Work with communities of interest gets started
The Councillor for Employment and Development of Alicante City Council, Mari Carmen de España, held an institutional meeting on 20 April with the Dean of the Association of Industrial Technical Engineers of Alicante (COITI), Antonio Martínez Canales, and members of the association’s board of directors. At the meeting it was announced that the COITI and Alicante Futura will work together within the clusters and hubs of the municipal strategic initiative of technological capital, thus creating synergies in terms of education, training and employment opportunities for the more than 2,000 professionals that this group has in the province of Alicante.
During the councillor’s visit to the facilities of the Association of Industrial Technical Engineers in Alicante, its Dean explained the qualities and needs of engineers and presented the project of the new innovation space for digital and technological entrepreneurship and the new urban economy that the association is promoting at its headquarters in Alicante, for which the Councillor responsible for Alicante Futura has shown her full support and cooperation, betting on the common design of training itineraries in the field of technology and the digital economy for engineers in Alicante.
Therefore, specific programs will be proposed in the fields of interest for this technical group that will be taught both in the network of Futura Territories of Alicante Futura and in the collegiate premises, in coordination with the Local Development Agency. De España has also offered to coordinate with the association in the development of the programs of the Youth Guarantee Agreement with the School of Industrial Organisation (EOI) and the Ministry of Industry, as well as cooperation in the development of on-demand training for companies in Alicante, which is already being promoted by ALDES.
“This is a moment of opportunity for Alicante. We need all of you and we are willing to collaborate with all those groups in the territory committed to this city strategy with which we are already building the future of our capital”, said the councillor, who said that the collaboration between the two entities will take the form of immediate joint actions that address issues related to the opportunities and matters linked to Alicante Futura.
For his part, Antonio Canales explained the interest of focusing this cooperation framework on issues that reinforce the competences and opportunities of Alicante’s Industrial Technical Engineers, such as energy and self-consumption; urban sustainability; logistics and supply chains; zero impact in building; big data; artificial intelligence and enabling technologies; strategic analysis and management applied to process management; intelligent and sustainable mobility or the requalification and management of industrial areas, topics of great interest for the Alicante Local Development Agency coordinated by Mari Carmen de España.
This action is part of the agenda of meetings and collaboration agreements that Alicante Futura has been promoting and maintaining in order to optimise the public-private collaboration effort at the service of Alicante’s technological capital strategy, which will soon be joined by other groups and communities of interest.
