The councillor for Employment and Development, Mari Carmen de España, and the coordinator of the Portuguese entity, Francisco Rodrigues de Araújo, formalise the collaboration agreement.
Alicante, 15 November 2022. Alicante Futura and the Association for the Miño Technology-Based Incubation Centre have formalised this Tuesday a collaboration agreement through which they undertake to promote actions and programmes of common interest that contribute to the economic and social development of both the city of Alicante and the Portuguese rural areas of the Northern Miño region. The signing took place this Tuesday at the Local Development Agency by the Councillor for Employment and Development, Mari Carmen de España, and the general coordinator of the Association, Francisco Rodrigues de Araújo, in the presence of about twenty representatives of the municipalities that make up this entity.
The partnership for the Miño Technology-Based Incubation Centre is born as an instrument for micro and small enterprises adapting to the constraints and particularities of rural areas. Its methodology is based on flexible, practical and available knowledge, as well as on individual strategies, linked to the triple helix innovation model, linking the scientific and technological system with companies.
“All the actions that we are going to carry out are going to be carried out through a strategy that promotes and channels different alliances and initiatives, through the different cultural, economic and social agents, in order to contribute reciprocally to the progress of our territories, sharing the keys to the success of the technological, digital and innovation hub led by Alicante Futura”, emphasises the councillor for Development and Employment, Mari Carmen de España.
Through this agreement, both Alicante Futura and the Miño Technology-Based Incubation Centre undertake to carry out a joint action plan to boost the competitiveness and projection of Alicante and the Portuguese region as hubs of reference in the field of the new urban economy, as a further step in the development of Alicante’s economic and technological diplomacy strategy.
In this way, both entities will seek points of common interest based on exchange, cooperation and the creation of regional collaboration strategies, focused on their technological and digital capacities and strengths.
From now on, both organisations will work together sharing their spaces, initiatives and programmes of joint interest aimed at the diversification of Alicante’s productive model, the incorporation of technological and entrepreneurial vision, as well as progress in terms of sustainability, requalification of public spaces and the attractiveness of the city.
