In this sense, the councillor also added that “there is no doubt that the scope of a comprehensive strategy such as Alicante Futura requires the development of ambitious meetings and initiatives with the business fabric of our environment through public-private collaboration”.
Likewise, during the event, the annual program of the LAB Alicante Futura was presented, a space composed of wokshops, bootcamps, conferences, fairs and hackathons. In addition, the three specific programs have also been introduced within this LAB, which have already begun to develop with different activities and conferences of success stories:
-Alicante Futura Emprende. Supports and accompanies new initiatives related to technology and digitalisation.
-Alicante Futura Keeptalent. Seeks to promote young talent in the city, facilitating its retention and growth.
-Alicante Futura Kids. Aimed at encouraging training in digitalisation and new technologies in children, thus reinforcing skills in students, educators and families.
The councillor also highlighted the value of the spaces that host all these programs, connected and distributed in a balanced way throughout the different districts of the city called Territorios Futura, organised into clusters and hubs that bring together and reflect the strengths of the city.
For his part, the president of CEV, Joaquín Pérez, thanked the business community for being able to learn first-hand about this initiative of the Alicante City Council and referred to “public-private collaboration as a key element in achieving the project’s objectives”. “The entrepreneurs of this province value the work that is being done to identify Alicante as a digital territory and for more and more technology companies to set up here. It is a process that is already underway and we have all the factors to achieve it if we weave alliances between public administration and private initiative,” he said.
