THE CITY COUNCIL PRESENTS THE 1ST INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ALICANTE FUTURA, ‘THE TOMORROW THAT MOVES US’.

The Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, and the Councillor for Employment and Development of the Alicante City Council, Mari Carmen de España, presented today, Thursday 8 September, at a press conference the 1st International Alicante Futura Congress ‘The tomorrow that moves us’, which will take place on 4 and 5 October at the ADDA (Auditorium of the Alicante Provincial Council).  The event, which will feature presentations by renowned experts and will bring together leading personalities from the business, institutional and technological spheres, was created with the aim of establishing itself as an international showcase for the latest trends, challenges and projects related to the technology industry, digital entrepreneurship and the new urban economy. 

During the presentation, Luis Barcala valued the trajectory of Alicante Futura from its conception to its implementation, which has allowed “sharing an accurate idea of the future that, from this city council and in collaboration with the different public-private strategic actors, we have been proposing for our territory, which is none other than to improve the future of citizens, companies and institutions by promoting initiatives, spaces, tools and programmes that have given relevant results”.

In this regard, the mayor has made a brief review of the work done within the Alicante Futura strategy stating “after signing agreements and alliances with more than 15 provincial, national and international entities and companies; encouraging the Alicante talent of more than 50 entrepreneurs through Keeptalent and the school of investors; mentoring and promoting six startups from Alicante through the programme of Accompaniment and Incubation of Entrepreneurship; holding more than 30 events for reflection and dissemination; being shortlisted for the Alicante Future strategy; being selected for the “Entrepreneurship Incubation and Support Programme”; mentoring and promoting six startups from Alicante through the Entrepreneurship Support and Incubation programme; holding more than 30 events for reflection and dissemination; being shortlisted for the Levi’s digital HUB; and discovering the world of Artificial Intelligence to more than 300 children, today we present this congress that will allow us to continue moving forward. “

Tomorrow that moves us’ The 1st International Congress of Alicante Futura is mainly aimed at those business sectors, leading voices, institutional actors, personalities and public entities that will be able to exchange opinions, initiatives and generate synergies within the technological, digital and entrepreneurial fields. Throughout the two days of the 1st International Congress, different activities will take place with the participation of experts and professionals of the calibre of Isabel Aguilera, current general manager of General Electric and former general manager of Google for Spain and Portugal.

Different presentations and round tables, moderated by Antonio Sánchez, president of AlicanTEC, and journalist Juan Ramón Lucas, will address issues related to the technology industry, tourism, digitalisation, citizenship and global projection, the new economy and local talent. The congress will also have a space made up of companies such as Vodafone, Uware Robotics, Bototikids, Next Electric Motors, GDV Mobility, ALIA, LIUX, and Next Electric Motors in which they will report and present their news and trends.

For her part, the Councillor for Employment and Development, Mari Carmen de España, said “with this first international congress we will be able to outline that tomorrow that truly moves us, excites us and manages to unite us as a city around relevant areas and initiatives with the potential to make us grow and revolutionise in an efficient, coherent and sustainable way”.
