STARTUPS SELECTED IN THE THIRD EDITION OF THE ACCOMPANIMENT AND INCUBATION PROGRAM OF ALICANTE FUTURA EMPRENDE

Today marks the beginning of the third edition of the Accompaniment and Incubation Program of Alicante Futura Emprende. This edition features the participation of 5 technology-based start-ups, which showcase our city’s capacity as a driving force for entrepreneurship and talent acquisition. In this sense, the participating companies offer solutions that cover a wide spectrum of social and business needs, with an innovative approach.

Mari Carmen de España, councilor for Development and Employment of the Alicante City Council, and Oscar del Río, CEO of Interacso, have opened the start of the third edition of the program.

The selected projects are:

  •
    • Way To Go (WTG) by Maria Miralles is a project that provides a service through an app, through which tourists can request the pick-up of their luggage from the hotel or tourist apartment where they are staying at the time of check-out, so that they can be taken directly to the airport and enjoy more time at their destination.

    • Wondella, by MarianSala Rodriguez, is a project that combines a social network for travel enthusiasts with the world’s cheapest travel agency on a website and includes a monetization program for users to earn money with their profile.

  •
    • XP Turidacticas, by Joan Pomata, is the project of an educational video game for language learning and the promotion of digital and sustainable tourism, whose learning methodology and procedural content generation adapts to the learning progress and tourist experience of each player.

    • Terreta Radio, by Eva Albert, is the technological development project for the transmission of radio stations and new advertising models: podcasts, online advertising inserted in newsletters, pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll ads, etc.

    • GovTransver, by Alejandron Acebal Fernández is a web app for local government that connects different sectorial strategic plans. The goal is to facilitate the implementation of municipal policies from a transversal approach. It provides a significant improvement in the coordination and internal communication of a municipality.

During the upcoming weeks, the start-ups will have the opportunity to participate in in-person work sessions with experts that will be held at Alicante Futura spaces. In these sessions, they will receive training on designing their business plans and share their experiences and concerns with the other participants, receiving valuable contributions from the group. Additionally, each of them will have personalized advice from a mentor, who will help the entrepreneurs improve their initiatives through online work sessions.

Through the support offered by the Alicante Futura Emprende program, participants can orient their offer to attractive market niches for their services, analyzing potential markets and selecting their target market, building a differential offer against the competition, and improving their business models to attract public or private investment that allows them to develop their full potential. Although each of the Start-Ups participating in this 3rd cycle of the Alicante Futura Emprende Lab is in a different state of development and therefore has different needs, all of them show high growth potential. With sufficient support, for example, through access to investment programs or other acceleration instruments, they can be successful in their respective markets, generating wealth and employment in our region.
