Alicante will host the ‘Mediterranean Tech Women Network Conference’ in December

The city of Alicante will host the ‘Mediterranean Tech Women Network Conference’ from 14 to 16 December. This is the main event focusing on women in the technological and scientific sector in the Mediterranean region and is promoted by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. In this case, the meeting will be attended by more than 150 women leaders in technology and innovation “so that they can share experiences with other experts and advance in their professional careers”, according to Mayor Luis Barcala during the presentation of the 1st Alicante Futura Congress being held at the Adda. It will also, he said, “serve to promote the scientific studies of women and the recognition of their specific talent. This conference will help to strengthen the network of women in tech, to also generate profitable business opportunities throughout the Mediterranean arc”.

The Mayor of Alicante stated that “I am making this announcement within the framework of Alicante Futura, which I believe is key for the city and all the surrounding areas to move forward in the technological aspiration driven by local, provincial and regional institutions and with the support of experts, major technology companies and local talent”. He also assures that “we asked ourselves four years ago, what is happening in Alicante? It is transforming, taking the leap into the future, it is positioning itself and we want it to be irreversible and to reach a successful conclusion”.

In addition, as already published in this newspaper, another event related to technology-based companies will soon be held between 29 November and 3 December. This is the Alicante Technology Forum, which will include the organisation of presentations and activities at the Adda, the Panoramis business centre, the MACA, the Marq, Puerta Ferrisa and the Plaza de Toros, which will become the nerve centre of the event.
